T minus 15 hours before wheels go up. I’ve packed all my basic necessities: iPhone, headphones, malaria pills, travel snacks, and a whole lot of excitement. My first leg is from SFO to EWR and I get a couple hours to collect myself before I make my way to New Delhi. We are staying one night in New Delhi before we catch a train north to the state of Punjab, the birthplace of my maternal and paternal grandparents. Tonight I had a true Californian barbecue dinner send-off in Lodi.
I’m truly grateful to everyone who has supported me. I’ve managed to work to raise money and I’ve been blessed with some generous donations to help me meet my goal. I’m very excited to arrive in Nabha. My first stop will be at the Government Secondary School (for boys) Nabha to present them with fifty new desks for their two classrooms. I’m even more excited to meet the students at the school. I am also looking forward to visiting some other elementary and secondary schools in the area to better understand their needs so that I may take this project to the next level.
Don’t be envious that I may be indulging in the finest Indian cuisine (homemade by my family)for the next two weeks. If you see a plane in the sky tomorrow, think of me 🙂
I’ll check in again when I arrive
